Why did I buy this?!

Did you ever walk into your favorite makeup store knowing exactly what you wanted but you end up walking out with something way different?? Of course you have, we all do!!

So here’s my problem – I’m the type of person who is easily conned into buying products that some of the ladies present to me while I’m shopping around [I just can’t say no] and then BAM I’m walking out with products I didn’t even want or like! (ex. products below)

IMG_4232

1. Stila Perfecting Concealer Pros: Anti-aging, Full coverage, Blends easily. Cons: Sets in fine lines, Creases even after powder applied, Only 4 shades to choose from.

2. DIORSHOW MAXIXIZER Lash Plumping Serum Pros: NONE!!! Cons: This product is awful, it’s suppose to plump lashes alone or with mascara, grow longer thicker lashes, and wearable to sleep. – Burns eyes, Leaves white residue, and doesn’t plump or grow lashes.

3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil Pros: Applies evenly, Creamy Consistency. Cons: Has to be reapplied, Doesn’t last long, Irritates eyes when worn on waterline (reason why I bought it.)

I personally did not have a great experience with these three products, which I’m super bummed about but what can you do. So their new home will be way far back in my makeup drawer lol! Thanks for reading and stopping by beauty’s!!

Morning Face Routine

Hi lovies!! I do apologize for me being MIA for a week! I really couldn’t find the motivation to post a blog (meep.) But I pushed myself this morning while doing some reading, sipping coffee and waiting for this blizzard to show up here in Jersey. But let me stop rambling so I can show you all my daily morning face routine!

2015/01/img_3854.jpg
Above (in order) here are my favorite face products that I use to get my morning started.

1. Aveeno Positively Radiant skin brightening daily scrub: Man do I love this face wash, ughh! It helps improve skin tone, texture and clarity to reveal brighter more radiant skin and let me tell you it does just that! Iv been using it for two years and it’s amazing! You can find it at CVS or any drugstore for $8.49.

2. Bio-Oil: So after I wash my face I’ll take 1-2 drops of this and dab it on any impurities on my face such as scars, old acne marks, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, aging skin, and dry skin. It’s a good product I mainly use it for dry skin on my face during the winter and it will help fade the appearance of acne marks and scars but not completely. You can also find this at CVS for $11.99

3. Ellen Tracy Essential Youth Oil: If you read my review on this a few weeks ago then you already know how much I loveee this product!! I take 2 drops of the oil, warm it between my fingers and push the product into my face and neck for smoother, firmer, glowy skin!! You can find this at TjMaxx for $6.99.

4. L’OREAL Paris Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle+Firming Day Cream: I’v always been a huge fan of L’OREAL especially their face products, as you can see lol. This is a light weight day cream with SPF 18 that really leaves your skin smooth and silky without the oily/slick feeling all over your face. You can find this at CVS, RiteAid and Target for $17.99 other stores will vary in price.

5. L’OREAL Paris Revitalift Eye Cream Day/Night: Lastly we have my holy grail eye cream! In all seriousness when I put this on in the morning or especially at night I will immediately notice less puffiness, dark circles and tired eyes. This is probably my fourth jar and I have not found anything greater than it so far! You can also find this at CVS, RiteAid, or Target for $13.99.

Well that’s about it for this post. I hope you all enjoyed it, give it a thumbs up if you do! Thanks for reading and stopping by.

Bye Beauties

Longer and Stronger Hair!

Do you want longer, stronger and healthier hair? Do you have dry, damaged, or unmanageable hair? Well then, allow me to wow you!

For those who haven’t heard of Carol’s Daughter Monoi (Repairing hair mask) or any of her other amazing hair products, this post is a must to read!!

2015/01/img_3481.jpg

This deeply nourishing hair mask will leave your hair smooth and silky root to tip! Having strong, healthy hair really is the only way for good healthy growth. Everyday we damage our hair, from washing it, exposing it to harsh heat, chemicals, or even out being in the sun!! It works well for all hair types, but works wonders for frizzy, curly hair like mine below in the picture. (Picture: air-dried natural hair)

2015/01/img_3575.png

My Personal Experience: This is my second purchase within a year, yes a year! This product should last you six months depending on your usage. I will use it 1-2 times every other week after I shampoo and condition my hair, leave in it for about 5-8 mins (I’ll normally finish my routine in the shower with the product in.) Then I will use The Wet Brush to comb it through then rinse with COOL water to lock in the moisture! I really noticed a huge difference in my hair especially after I did the ombré. Styling my hair became way easier and it practically cut my blow-dry time in half, since the product won’t weigh down your hair. And the best is the smelllll! OMG! It is heaven! If you have ever smelt the Yankee Candle Sand that’s what your hair will smell like!!

2015/01/img_3484.png Formulated without parabens, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, or phthalates.

You can find Carol’s Daughter hair products online, Ulta and even Amazon. Retail price $32. You can also find The Wet Brush on their website for $15.99. There’s also alternative brands which do the EXACT same at Ulta, CVS, RiteAid and Walgreens. Links below:

Do the Dupe

Is a lipstick just a lipstick? Uh, NO!

But for some of us on a budget or our only option is to run to the local CVS or RiteAid, is it. (and either way that’s fine!) Personally I never was one to rush over to lipsticks when it comes to makeup, but I do love a little lip liner to make my lips appear fuller and then throw on some gloss. Back to the topic.. budget or on crunch time I always say, “do the dupe.”

I recently hit up RiteAid and found this BEAUTIFUL dark plum lipstick by Revlon called “Va Va Violet” and as I’m standing there looking at it I think to myself, “holy dupe this looks so familiar!” lo and behold it’s MAC Cyber’s twin haha!

2015/01/img_3452.jpg

Swatch no flash:

2015/01/img_3453.jpg

My thoughts: This is a pretty decent lipstick for its color payoff and one thing in particular I really like about this lipstick is that it’s build-able, which is heaven sent for me! Wear time (without eating or drinking) 4-6 hours. I feel if you apply a great lip primer you could obtain more wear time with this lipstick. My rate 8/10. Revlon VaVa Violet $8.49 / MAC Cyber $16

Check it out tell me what you think and be sure to comment below for more dupes!!

Ellen Tracy: Essential Oil

Hello, Hello😊

So I am superrrr excited to gush about this product that I picked up at TJmaxx about five days ago. Ellen Tracy has amazing products all around, including wardrobe too! But this particular item I picked up literally changed my skin in the five days that I used it – no exaggeration.

Ellen Tracy created this light weight, non-greasy essential youth oil made for ALL SKIN TYPES. After you wash your face in the morning or at night you take two drops of the oil and rub it in between your fingers, you really want to warm up the oil and push the product into your face and neck.

2015/01/img_3449-0.png

My personal experience: smooth, firm, glowy skin in just five days! Well, for me at least lol. Now I have pretty oily skin and this product; even with makeup on top of it really stays put, it does not slide all over your face at all!

This product is a steal! It’s all natural, not tested on animals and is only …… $6.99 people!!! Head over to TJmaxx and pick this up ASAP!

Enjoy Beauties
